I had company coming over and needed to whip up a quick dessert. This Apple Crisp using puff pastry was so fun and easy to make. Trust me, your friends and family will think that you bought it at a bakery!
3 red apples
1-2 tbs butter
1/4 c Javamelts Flavored Sugar of choice
1 tsp lemon juice
1 sheet puff pastry
Cast iron skillet lined with parchment paper
Preheat oven 400 degrees
Thaw puff pastry to room temperature
Dice apples small- I peeled half and left half with the skin on
Toss apples with 1/4 c Javamelts and 1 tsp cinnamon and lemon juice
Place puff pastry onto parchment paper in the cast iron skillet
Put diced apples in the center
Add silvers if butter on top (approximately 1-2 tbs)
Fold up the sides of the puff pastry to hold the apples in place and to prevent the juice running out the sides
Bake in oven for approximately 18-20 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are bubbling
Remove from oven
Let cool
Coat with flavored confectioners sugar
(1 c Javamelts mixed with 1 tbs cornstarch- pulse in blender until powder forms)
Enjoy!
